    ½ûÂþÌìÌà radon mitigation work

With the passage of the May 2017 bond, just over 1.1 million dollars became available to mitigate radon levels in ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. Radon testing has now been completed every school and radon mitigation systems have been successfully installed at 16 schools. The migation efforts are now complete and the program is significantly under budget.

Additional testing occurs at least every 5 years
Oregon law requires testing every 10 years however ½ûÂþÌìÌà chooses to test every 5 year following the Oregon Health Authority guidelines. Every school year, a handful of District schools are re-tested before the 5 year limit is up. Results are posted on the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Healthy and Safe Schools web page. Anytime radon is detected above the action level after all protocol testing, a mitigation provider is contracted.
