Learning and Credit Options

  • Welcome

is an option for high school students who want control of their own learning experience with support from a highly qualified teacher in a lab setting. Students should not expect that online coursework will be easier; it is just as rigorous as regular "brick and mortar" classroom work. Some students take more or less time to learn and retain new skills and content.

Credit by Exam (CBE) is a process for ascertaining student achievement and awarding credit for a particular course which is normally offered within the student's high school, without the student having to enroll or otherwise participate in the course.

LCO Non½ûÂþÌìÌà Options is an option for high school students who may need to take a Non½ûÂþÌìÌà Options. This option begins with the student's school counselor.

The current Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook can be found at bottom of the following page: /Page/1065.  The District is collaborating with the Portland Association of Teachers to update this document to align with recent changes in State Law (SB 553). All schools are concurrently engaged in a process of creating school specific School Climate Handbooks in collaboration with staff, students, families, and community partners to meet the unique needs of each school community.
