Employee Work Year Calendars: /Page/15515
- Enrolled employees who work the entire work/school year will have benefits from October 1st (coverage start date) through September 30th of the following year (coverage end date), provided enrollment is timely.
- Those hired on or before January 15th and who work their entire work/school year will have benefits through September 30th.
- Those hired after January 15th and who work the entire work/school year will have benefits through July 31st, unless the employee has been guaranteed continuing eligible employment for the next school year, in which case benefits will continue.
- Coverage will terminate at the end of the month the employee resigns or ceases to be paid, unless the employee worked, or was paid, more than half the contract days of the month. Coverage will terminate at the end of the following month in this case.

How do I continue health insurance after leaving ½ûÂþÌìÌà employment?

COBRA - ATU | DCU | PAT | PFSP
Within approximately two weeks of the termination of your ½ûÂþÌìÌà health insurance coverage, you will receive a COBRA (Consolidated Budget Reconciliation Act) notice from the Health & Welfare Trust (plan administrator). This notice is mailed to your home address. You will be offered the option to self-pay the full premium for your medical, vision, and dental coverage for 24 months from the termination date of your active coverage. Refer to your COBRA notice for the deadline to elect continued coverage. If you have any questions about COBRA, contact H&W Trust directly.

COBRA - Non-Represented | SEIU
When your ½ûÂþÌìÌà health insurance coverage ends, BenefitHelp Solutions (BHS) mails a COBRA (Consolidated Budget Reconciliation Act) notice to you. BHS is OEBB’s third-party administrator for COBRA. Your COBRA notice includes rates and enrollment instructions/forms, as well as the deadline to elect continued coverage.
When ½ûÂþÌìÌà enters a termination date for your ½ûÂþÌìÌà health insurance coverage in MyOEBB, the online benefit enrollment system, that data gets transferred to BHS. Within a week, BHS will mail your personalized COBRA notice to your mailing address that is listed in MyOEBB?. You will be offered the option to self-pay the full premium for your health insurance coverage for 18 months from the termination date of your active coverage.
