Student Email

All ½ûÂþÌìÌà high schools now have ½ûÂþÌìÌà student email. Some benefits:
- Email – Use ½ûÂþÌìÌà email to contact teachers and classmates, logging in with your @student.pps.net account at .
- Your student email address is the same as your school account login and is also how you access G Suite for Education tools.
- Communicate with teachers in Google Classroom.
Security
Students have a District username and password, based upon their name and student ID, which they can use to login to school computers. The same password will be used on their ½ûÂþÌìÌà email account. Please encourage your student to change their password to something unique and keep it safe.Acceptable Use
Use of District technology on or off campus requires students to abide by the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Acceptable Use Policy. Please review it and encourage your child to do so as well. They will be checking a box accepting the terms of the AUP when they activate their District-provided email account.

Will the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and OneDrive still be available after migrating to Gmail ?
Yes. Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and OneDrive are not affected by this migration. They will still be available. Access to Outlook email will be unsupported starting April 13, 2020. OneDrive is not supported and users are encouraged to use Google Drive. End date for access to OneDrive has not yet been determined.

Will we keep our same email addresses or will they change?
The email addresses will not change. All email addresses will remain as username@student.pps.net.

Can I access Outlook email during the migration?
Yes. You can access Outlook during the migration. Do NOT move any email messages to folders or make any changes to the folder structure or create any draft messages in Outlook during migration hours (March 20 - March 22, 2020). Outlook access will be disabled on April 13, 2020.

Are all my emails, attachments and calendar appointments going to move to Gmail?
Yes. All your emails, attachments and calendar appointments from O365 email will move over to Gmail. Any email attachments larger than 25 MB will be added to your Google Drive and the email will contain a link to the document in Drive.

Can I continue to use O365/Outlook as my email platform after Gmail is turned on for the district?
Starting Monday, March 23, Outlook will only be available for referencing data that did not migrate over to Gmail. Outlook will neither receive new emails at this point nor be able to send any outgoing emails. Please login to gmail.com using your current username (username@student.pps.net) and password.

Yes, pinned messages in Outlook will migrate as starred messages in Gmail.

Yes, your Outlook groups/lists will migrate over to Gmail so you can easily send email to a group of contacts. You can use the to find someone’s contact info or organize contacts with labels like "friends" or "family" to create a group. .
