Do you have an incoming Kindergartner? Let us help you figure out what to do!

  • Step 1: Verify that Grout is your neighborhood school.

    Step 2: Gather Required Documents.

    • Two Proofs of Address (utility bills, etc)
    • Proof-of-Age (passport, birth certificate, etc.) Your child must be 5 on or before August 31.
    • Immunization Records: needs to be filled in and signed.
    • Vision and Dental Screening (under 7 years old)

    Step 3:

    • Click the link above to get to the online registration page.
    • If you are transferring from another ½ûÂþÌìÌà school, fill out this paper registration document.
    • Visit ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ's Enrollment and Transfer site for more information.
    • Either upload the required documents or bring them to the office.
    • Enrollment is NOT complete until documents are turned in.

    Reminders:

    • Kindergarten Registration opens February 28. To help us forecast, please complete your registrations by June 1st.
    • Registration is not complete until all registration documents are either uploaded, emailed or brought to the office. Email Kat Barber with questions or to provide the documents.

    What comes next?

    • After you've completed your online registration, it will get sent to the school office. If we have all the registration documents, we will enroll your student. If we do not have all the documents, the registration will sit in our queue and will be processed once we have all the required documents turned in.
    • We will send an email reminder about our upcoming kindergarten events and email parents who are still missing documents.
      • Note: Your immunization records need to be transferred on to our (CIS) form, so even if you give us the immunization records from your doctor's office, we will still reach out to you to fill out the CIS form.
    • In mid-August, we will begin setting up kindergarten assessment times. More information on this process will be coming soon.
    • Once we have assessment times scheduled, we will send out an email with those dates and general Back-to-School information.
      • August 26 & 27 will be the kindergarten assessments. Each assessment lasts about 15 minutes.
      • August 28 & 29 is a soft-start for kindergartens. Half of the class will attend on the 28th and the other half will attend on the 29th.
      • September 2 is the first day for all kindergartners.

    Enroll Online

    You can register online if ALL of the following apply:

    • Your child is NEW to ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ
    • Your students did NOT attend any of the following ½ûÂþÌìÌà Head Start/Pre-K locations: Applegate, Boise-Eliot/Humboldt, Clarendon, Creston, Faubion, Grout, Lee, MLK Jr, Kelly, Sacajawea, Sitton, Whitman, Woodlawn
    • Your student does NOT have an IFSP and did NOT receive services from Multnomah Early Childhood Program (MECP)
    • You are enrolling your child in your neighborhood school and NOT a CBO/Charter
    • You have an email address and access to a computer
