• Registration for our Spring 2024-25 Term will open in early February.

    We will have our program Course List available at that time. Classes will start on Monday, February 24. Classes will be held at the following Campuses this year: Benson HS, Franklin HS, Roosevelt HS.

  • Registration for students not currently attending ½ûÂþÌìÌà schools

     

    Non-½ûÂþÌìÌà students who need to take a class for recovery or initial credit through Portland Evening and Summer Scholars may do so. Each successfully completed course earns the student one half (1/2) credit (one semester). Below you will find a table with the courses offered. If there are any questions regarding transcripts or credit equivalents, please contact our office.

    Registration Form for Non ½ûÂþÌìÌà Students

    • Please use the Non-½ûÂþÌìÌà Student registration form if your student is not currently attending a ½ûÂþÌìÌà school. Depending on your browser settings, you may need to download the form to use the form-fillable functions.
      • We highly recommend that you meet with your student's regular school counselor to facilitate course selection for Evening and Summer Scholars.
      • Many schools use course naming guidelines that do not necessarily match course names at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. Your student's counselor will know which ½ûÂþÌìÌà courses will match credits needed for your particular school.

    • Due to priority for ½ûÂþÌìÌà Students, we will not process enrollment for Non-½ûÂþÌìÌà Students until the week prior to class start, space permitting.

    After registration opens, you will find the course offerings below. As courses fill we will cross them out to note the course is no longer open for registration.

  • Spring 2024-25 Notes

    • Fees for Spring 2024-25 Evening Scholars courses are being waived for ½ûÂþÌìÌà Students.
    • Spring Class schedule will be posted at the bottom of this page a few days before registration opens.
    • We ask that you complete the form and course choices with the Counselor at your school. Not all ½ûÂþÌìÌà courses use the same names as other schools, and we want to make sure the courses you have chosen will earn the appropriate credit at your school.
    • You can return the form to PESS at any time, but we will not enroll non-½ûÂþÌìÌà students until the week prior to the beginning of class, as class space allows.

    Spring 2024-25 Dates:

    • Registration will open on or around Monday, February 3. Meet with your School Counselor to register for Evening Scholars classes.
    • Classes meet once per week, from Feb 24 - June 2.

  • Enrollment Prioritization (based on class cohort during the current school year)

    1. Summer Scholars will not enroll students for grade improvement or credit advancement. Students in these situations are invited to enroll in Evening Scholars.

      Portland SUMMER Scholars follows a prioritization process for situations when classes fill up to a maximum capacity. Our prioritization process is as follows:

      1. ½ûÂþÌìÌà Seniors 

      2. ½ûÂþÌìÌà Juniors, Credit Recovery and Credit Deficient

      3. ½ûÂþÌìÌà Sophomores, Credit Recovery and Credit Deficient

      4. ½ûÂþÌìÌà Freshmen, Credit Recovery and Credit Deficient

       

      Portland EVENING Scholars follows a prioritization process for situations when classes fill up to a maximum capacity. Our prioritization process is as follows:
