Roosevelt High School, nestled in the heart of St. Johns, has a rich heritage born of working families and Western roots.

It was built in 1910, was named James John High School, in honor of the founder of the settlement, and cost $40,000 to build. It opened in 1911 and the first graduating class had only four students. James John High School closed in 1921, and its replacement, Roosevelt High School, opened the following year.

Today, Roosevelt is a comprehensive community high school, rich in diversity, boasting students from 29 countries all over the globe. We have a diverse and talented teaching staff and an administration committed to the success of every student.
