Admission to ACCESS Academy is by application and lottery.

The application for the 24-25 school year is now closed. We will update this page early in 2025 for the 25-26 application cycle.

Application/Lottery for the 2024-25 school year opens February 15, 2024, and closes March 15th, 2024.                                (Click here for info sessions and tours.)

    Eligibility Requirements:

Applicant has scored at the 99th percentile or above on a nationally-normed assessment of Reading, Math, and/or Cognitive Ability from any academic year.

The student must have a composite (not sub-test) score (in Reading, Math, or Cognitive Ability specifically) at the 99th percentile to be considered for ACCESS. At this time, ½ûÂþÌìÌà uses OSAS (state testing), MAP Growth (district benchmark testing, this is different from MAP Fluency), and NNAT (district TAG testing) as ACCESS applicable tests.

If you're interested in getting your student a score before 2nd grade, you can refer them for TAG in the area of intellectual giftedness during the TAG and an NNAT will be administered as part of that process.

If you are outside of ½ûÂþÌìÌà (or a ½ûÂþÌìÌà family getting private testing), we do accept scores from the following list of tests:

    • Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)
    • Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS)
    • Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement
    • MAP Growth, NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association)
    • Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT)
    • Naglieri General Ability Test (Verbal, Nonverbal, or Quantitative)
    • Oregon Statewide Assessments (OSAS)
    • Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT)
    • Stanford Bennet Achievement Test
    • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC)
    • Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (W½ûÂþÌìÌÃI)
    • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT)
    • Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities

Neither the ACCESS nor district team are able to provide information about private testing.

You will see a question on the application about "demonstrated need." Everyone with a 99% score is able to mark the "has met or exceeded all benchmarks" options. This is demonstrated by the test score. You do not need any evidence of other hardship, etc.

If Applying, Please Keep In Mind:

    1. Documentation of a 99th percentile is required in order to apply. Please have this available prior to completing the application. For the proof of the 99% score there is no longer an upload feature on the current application. Instead you need to email your attachment to: enrollment-office@pps.net
    2. The ACCESS Application will be online through ParentVue. Go here: /Page/2343  For those family members with students already in ½ûÂþÌìÌà and a ParentVue account, you will be able to apply directly through that account. From those applying from outside of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, you will be able to create a new ParentVue account. Here is how to sign up for ParentVue if you don't have it yet, and if you do scroll toward the bottom to see how to access the lottery: .
      1. Some folks have currently experienced the following glitch in ParentVue: Middle school applicants that have already applied and been offered a seat at another lottery school may encounter errors when trying to apply to ACCESS. If this happens, please email enrollment-office@pps.net and they can fix the error, so you can apply to ACCESS.

Admission to ACCESS Academy is by application and lottery.
