Since 2006, students and faculty in the Portland State University Art and Social Practice MFA Program have been collaborating with community members, museums, organizations, and businesses to create site-specific and participatory projects. As an expansion of this work, the program has established a civic space at King School in Northeast Portland where PSU students are developing their artistic practices in a PK-8 context, creating neighborhood-based art projects, and bringing PSU activities directly to ½ûÂþÌìÌà to advance socially engaged art education.
