Special Education Listening Sessions, Spring 2025

  • The Special Education Department is embarking on a significant listening campaign aimed at better meeting the needs of our staff, students, and families. To ensure this process is informed, thoughtful, and responsive, we are conducting listening sessions at all schools. These sessions are designed to provide a platform for open and honest dialogue, where participants can share their experiences, concerns, and suggestions related to special education services.

    Purpose of the Listening Sessions:

    • To understand the strengths and challenges within our current special education services.

    • To gather valuable insights directly from staff, parents, and other stakeholders.

    • To ensure that voices from across our school communities are heard and considered in the reorganization process.

    We believe that listening is a foundational step in building trust, fostering collaboration, and driving meaningful change. These sessions will prioritize active listening, creating a safe space for participants to share candidly.
