Hello, my name is Reina M Gomez, I am originally from El Salvador. I have been with ½ûÂþÌìÌà since 2007. I worked in different programs such as Head start and ESL. Most of my tenure was with "Conectando, Instruyendo, y Aprendiendo" (CIA) program. My work was focused on helping children develop social-emotional, motor, language, and intellectual skills, and supporting parents to actively participate in their children's academic growth. In 2024, a new opportunity opened up for me and brought me to the Community Agents team. As the Spanish Community Agent, I am passionate about supporting families navigate the ½ûÂþÌìÌà system and collaborate with school staff so that students can thrive and grow.

My name is Kai Liu, and I am a Chinese Community Agent at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. I was born and raised in China and have been living in the United States since 2019. I received my Bachelor Degree in English at Guangxi Normal University in China and my Master’s Degree in Foreign Language Education at Boston University in the United States. Before I was hired as a Chinese Community Agent, I was a Chinese teacher at Franklin High School. I love teaching students and connect with both students and families. I am excited to assist and connect with our Chinese community and to help students and families to succeed. Away from work, I enjoy hiking, going to movies, and taking my dog for walks.

Mirna Ghamrawi
My journey with ½ûÂþÌìÌà began in 2015 in the ESL department, supporting newcomer elementary students to adjust to their new world and learn a new language. I am currently in the department of Civil Rights as the community agents team manager. My goal is to use the tools available to me in this role to align the community agents' purpose and mission with ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ's vision of the graduate portrait. I have the privilege to lead and support a team of community agents. This is a team of bilingual, bicultural individuals who support and advocate for our underserved immigrant and refugee families and their students as they navigate ½ûÂþÌìÌà systems and processes. Away from work, I enjoy being active in the beautiful city of Portland and creating delicious and colorful meals for my family.
