• So What Are Personalized Learning Requirements (PLRs)?

PLRs are required for graduation. ½ûÂþÌìÌà and Ida B. Wells HS want every student to have a plan for life after graduation. To help you get there, you'll need to complete the following during your time at Ida B. Wells HS:

    • Participate in and reflect on TWO Career Related Learning Experiences (CRLEs)
      • One must be completed by the end of your Freshman year
      • One must be completed by the end of your Junior year
      • CRLE Reflections must meet evaluation criteria. Please follow the instructions carefully and avoid common mistakes like not writing only one sentence when asked to write two paragraphs.
    • Create a Resume - assigned and evaluated by your Junior English teacher

    • Write your My Plan Essay - assigned and evaluated by your Senior English teacher

    PLR Description

CRLEs are activities that bridge classroom learning with the world of work and help you explore future college and career possibilities. Ida B. Wells College & Career Center offers numerous CRLE opportunities every term.

Simply attending an event does not meet this requirement. You must complete TWO CRLE reflection assignments that meet rubric standards.

The Resume is a personal document that you will use in job searches, scholarship competitions, college admissions or when asking for a letter of recommendation. You are required to complete a resume that meets the criteria below.

The My Plan Essay is a formal reflection of your high school experiences related to college and career, future plans, and goals, and supports OSAC scholarship essay questions. The My Plan Essay supports the district’s goal for every ½ûÂþÌìÌà student to graduate with an informed post-high school plan.
