Guidance for purchasing computers for students
Español| Ti?ng Vi?t| ÖÐÎÄ| §²§å§ã§ã§Ü§Ú§Û| Soomaali
We have created this page for those parents that would like to purchase their own device for their student.
Below are some examples of what ½ûÂþÌìÌà currently offers students. The examples below are all Chromebooks; however, it is not necessary for students to have a Chromebooks device in order to participate in Home-based Distance Learning. Many other computers are suitable. Chromebooks are often an inexpensive option that will meet your student's needs.
Key features if you are looking to purchase a device for your student
- A forward-facing camera for video conferencing.
- Speakers or a headphone jack for video conferencing.
- Wifi enabled so that it can connect to the internet. (You will still need to have internet service.)
- A minimum of 4GB of RAM
- Computers with Intel i3, i5, i7, will provide a longer useful life, but Celeron or other mobile processors will also allow students to effectively work with ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ-HD distance education.
- For younger students you may want to consider a touch-enabled screen and an external mouse.
